Week 12 Part A: Business Specific Online Tools

You mentioned Google Business which is a great tool in creating an identity for your business. Though there are SO many services that Google provides that could aid in your marketing efforts. Google Analytics, YouTube,  Google for Small Business, Google Ads. We all know Google is the key to a successful digital marketing campaign, just due to the fact that there are so many people searching on that platform every day. Knowing how to navigate these different services and how to properly utilize them will drastically affect your marketing success. If you have a website for your business, you MUST have Google index it and crawl it for all the keywords you can get. The more keywords you get on your site are ultimately going to drive traffic way faster and easier than any other digital marketing platform. The best thing about it is you don't need to pay for it if you don't want to. Assigning keywords for your site is only making it easier for organic searchers to find your content. If you wanted to rank higher on the SERPs you can do that at your own discretion. There is just so much information available at your fingertips that Google provides you that it would be SILLY to not take advantage of. One service I think that is overlooked is Reddit. If you are a business with a following, creating and engaging in a subreddit can really add to the experience of your customers, making it more likely for them to give recommendations to others. Constant interaction with other customers and company officials can really enhance and create a sense of community within your customer base. Not only does this community has a chance of being discovered organically by others on Reddit, but if your lucky and get put on the front page your business will have hundreds of thousands of eyes on it. There is a real power to Reddit that most undermine.

I think its kind of obvious how the various Google services could help my business... Simply they are allowing me to get discovered and rank higher either organically or artificially. This would be step number one if I were to legitimately create a business. Reddit is something that is there once you have your feet planted and have a community. Though if you are just starting out, Reddit is still a powerful tool to get recognition and have others view and critique your work. There are so many subreddits on various topics that you are bound to find a community that pertains to your area of work. Personally, I would go inside various marketing and design subreddits and post my work along with various links to find my business. Though they might not be getting customers to view your content (still very possible) it is valuable to get other's opinions and thoughts on various matters.
