Week 14 Part A: What we Learn from Google Analytics

Analytics of any sort is important for a business to view since it gives them insight on what they could improve upon. There are some statistics that are very important to keep an eye on and optimize to their fullest capacity. The ones I would focus on are CPC and engagement.

CPC is how much you are paying on average to get that user to VIEW your page. CPC is directly affected keywords, budget, standing in Google's rankings. If your CPC is too high, your ROI will be out of wack. This stat must be representative of your overall view count, and if it's not something must be addressed.

Engagement is how your audience is interacting with your site. If you are only retaining the user for a few seconds you aren't going to have the ability to sell or inform them of your product/service. This metric is a MUST SEE as it will tell you if your site is engaging enough. If your site doesn't hook the viewer in and entice them to explore your site, engagement will inform you of this. If users hang on a page too long and don't know where to continue, that is a problem that also must be addressed. Having a site that leads or excites viewers to view more of your content is a site set up for success. The engagement metric will tell you all of this and more and that is why it is a MUST to keep a close eye on.
